Let's start with some common adjectives used to describe people and places:

In Tamil, adjectives are typically placed before the noun they describe.

To describe someone's physical appearance, use the following structure:

[Name/Pronoun] [Adjective] [Noun] உடையவர் ([Name/Pronoun] [Adjective] [Noun] udaiyavar)

Examples:

• ராம் உயரமான தோற்றம் உடையவர். (Rām uyaramāna tōRRam udaiyavar.) - Ram has a tall appearance.
• அவள் நீண்ட கூந்தல் உடையவள். (AvaL nīNda kūndal udaiyavaL.) - She has long hair.

For general descriptions, you can also use:

[Name/Pronoun] [Adjective]-ஆக இருக்கிறார் ([Name/Pronoun] [Adjective]-āga irukkiRār)

Example:

• அவர் அழகாக இருக்கிறார். (Avar azhagāga irukkiRār.) - He/She is beautiful.

To describe locations and give directions, use these common phrases:

Example sentences:

• பள்ளி வீட்டிற்கு அருகில் உள்ளது. (PaLLi vīttiRku arugil uLLadu.) - The school is near the house.
• கடைக்கு போக வலது பக்கம் திரும்பவும். (Kadaikku pōga valadu pakkam tirumbavum.) - Turn right to go to the shop.
